GB Sh Ch & Ir Sh Ch Gwendariff Dom Perignon JW was the dog who gave us amazing new experiences within the dog show world and whom we learned so much with.  Everything from, the correct maintenance of an adult male show coat, to specific show conditioning, stud work including Ai, campaigning dogs at the highest level and of course showmanship, show etiquette and a reviewed vision for the kennel.  He gave us experiences that we really had only previously dreamed of – such as Group wins, Best In Show wins, Crufts Best of Breed wins, experiencing the main ring and everything that entails, consistent winning as opposed to more irregular wins and the joy of making breed history alongside his litter sister with the doubles they achieved.  All these were new experiences which helped the kennel and indeed ourselves, evolve.

It was because of Harvey that we developed our motto, ‘A Passion For Perfection’, an adage that we still hold dear.

We have much to thank our dear Harvey for.  UK Group wins are something to aspire to if you are a girl coming to compete from Northern Ireland – Harvey made that aspiration a reality winning four UK Groups as well as five times Group 2 often just pipped to the top spot by the famous ‘Yogi’, Crufts eventual Supreme Champion 2010. It was a great era and grounding for us and one which was to pave the way for many other successful show dogs for us. 

Harvey’s use as a Sire proved invaluable when we mated him within family. It was to become the start of the Gwendariff legacy.v
